Building Connections: Hampshire County Job Fair Brings Employers and Job Seekers Together

On February 26, 2026, the Hampshire County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Hampshire County Development Authority (HCDA), proudly hosted our first community Job Fair—bringing together local employers and job seekers for an afternoon focused on opportunity, connection, and workforce growth.

Held at the Brannon Building on the WVSDB Campus, the event created a welcoming space for businesses and individuals to meet face-to-face, explore opportunities, and build meaningful connections right here in Hampshire County.

A Strong Turnout from Employers and Job Seekers

We were excited to see strong participation from both employers and attendees:

• 24 employers registered representing a variety of industries

• 45 pre-registered attendees

• 35 walk-in attendees

• Approximately 80 job seekers in attendance

This level of engagement reflects a clear need—and opportunity—for continued workforce connection events within our community.

Supporting Our Local Workforce

The goal of this event was simple: to help connect local businesses with local talent.

Employers had the opportunity to meet potential candidates, share information about open positions, and even conduct on-the-spot conversations with job seekers. At the same time, attendees were able to explore a wide range of career opportunities without having to travel outside the county.

Events like this are an important step in strengthening our workforce and supporting long-term economic growth in Hampshire County.

Community Collaboration in Action

This Job Fair would not have been possible without the collaboration and support of our partners and community organizations.

From employer participation to volunteer support and event coordination, this effort highlighted what can be accomplished when our community works together toward a shared goal.

We were also proud to offer free professional headshots for attendees by Jenna Gelow Designs, helping job seekers put their best foot forward as they pursue new opportunities.

Looking Ahead

The success of this event reinforces the importance of continuing to create opportunities that connect businesses and the workforce.

The Hampshire County Chamber of Commerce remains committed to supporting initiatives that help our local economy grow, strengthen our business community, and provide meaningful resources to both employers and job seekers.
